No it is not correct. Men require about 2,5 liters of water per day and women require approximately 2 liters of water per day. With that said as the 8 glasses per day theory, this is only an estimate. The amount of water each person per day needs are dependable on sever factors such as age, weight, build, type of diet, activity level, etc. Each person has a unique water requirement. It is better to calculate what your individual requirement is than to stick to a one size fits all approach. It is really hard to drink too much water to the level where it is unsafe. Therefore, you can have as much water as you like. You will battle to overdrink on water.
