How do you stay hydrated if water sources are far from each other?

The best method is to make the best use of what you have. Each hiking terrain requires a different strategy. If you go hiking on a terrain with very few or no water sources the best is to ensure that you are in an optimal hydration state when you start with the trail and consume small sips of water as you progress. When there are water sources available on the route, drink as much water possible at the source and fill up all bottles. The ideal is to drink at least one liter of water before you leave the water source.
