Dehydration can be the cause of mild breathing problems. When children become dehydrated, histamine levels increase and high histamine levels in the lungs can cause bronchioles to go into spasm. As a result moisture is retained in the lungs that normally would have been cleared during normal breathing.
Is it possible that dehydration can cause breathing problems for my child?
