Do pregnant women need more fluids to be optimally hydrated?

Hydration is especially important when trying to conceive and once conception took place, water is crucial for the healthful development of the foetus. Water plays a significant role in the development of the placenta, and to form the amniotic sac. Considering these facts, it is evident that a pregnant woman needs more water than the average person and should increase her water intake from when she plans to become pregnant.  Avoiding dehydration is absolutely essential.
