When children or adults do not drink enough fluids and become dehydrated, it can cause bad breath. When you are dehydrated your mouth is not able to produce sufficient saliva. Saliva contains antibacterial qualities that keep bacteria growth intact. If there is not enough saliva it can cause a bacterial overgrowth that can cause bad breath.
